Our commitment
Berkeley Nucleonics Corporation is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the experience for all users and applying the relevant accessibility standards to www.berkeleynucleonics.com.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, at three levels: A, AA, and AAA. We measure this site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Our status is partially conformant. That is the W3C's own term for a site that meets the standard except in specific places, and we list every one of those places under Known limitations below. We use it deliberately: WCAG conformance is all-or-nothing, so any site with a known gap that calls itself conformant is overstating.
How we support accessibility
- Accessibility is built into our website's own HTML and design. We do not rely on a third-party accessibility overlay or widget.
- Pages use semantic structure and landmarks, a single main heading, and a "skip to content" link.
- The site is operable by keyboard, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
- Images that convey information include text alternatives; decorative images are marked as such.
- Forms have accessible names and clear, specific error messages.
- We maintain sufficient color contrast and respect the reduced-motion preference.
- Decorative animations are hidden from screen readers, and long webinars carry a timestamped transcript on the page beneath the player.
Known limitations
We would rather name these plainly than leave you to find them. If any of the following stands between you and what you need, contact us and we will get it to you directly.
- Downloadable documents Some older PDFs, including datasheets and user manuals, are not yet fully tagged for screen readers. Ask us for any document in an accessible or alternative format and we will provide it.
- Video captions Every video hosted directly on this site is a short product animation with no soundtrack, so there is nothing to caption; each one accompanies a still image that already has a text description. Our webinars and tutorials are hosted on YouTube and carry automatic captions, which are useful but not error-free. Two of the longer webinars now include a full transcript on the page itself, beneath the player. If you need a corrected transcript for any video, contact us and we will supply one.
- Embedded third-party content A small number of pages include material served by other providers, such as scientific citation listings and consent management. We do not control their markup, and their accessibility may differ from the rest of the site.
Feedback and contact
We welcome your feedback. If you encounter an accessibility barrier or need information in an alternative format, please contact us and we will respond within three business days.
Assessment approach
BNC assesses accessibility by self-evaluation, combining automated testing (axe and Lighthouse) with manual keyboard and screen-reader review. We repeat this assessment as the site changes.
The most recent sweep, on August 6, 2026, covered every page carrying the standard site navigation. It verified that each page declares a language and a title, that every content image carries a text alternative, that every form field has an accessible name, and that text colors meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio Level AA requires. Contrast was measured rather than estimated: our primary blue reaches 7.4:1 on white and our navy 12.8:1, both of which also clear the stricter Level AAA threshold. One grey used for placeholder text fell short at 3.1:1 and was darkened until it passed.
